gift guide | items for the home

All I want for Christmas is a forever home. OK, not really. But sometimes moving around every six months gets to me and I just want to settle down and decorate something. I try and make corporate housing feel like “home” but we have a weight limit when we move, and we’re already at that. Oops. Therefore, we can’t purchase anything else.

But hey, for all of you wonderful people who can by awesome goods for the home, here’s a gift guide. I’ve been stalking Urbanara lately and am in love with their blankets, pillows, and kitchen items. And that coaster set? How cool.

Gift Guide: Items for the Home
1. Dahra Coaster Set
2. Kaunas Cushion
3. Sydals Vase
4. Salle Grey 100% wool Blanket
5. Onuma Bowl
6. Champagne Travel Candle
7. Vence Pestle and Mortar

I’m drawn to wood, natural fabrics, and anything neutral with pops of color, so this is exactly how I’d decorate my own home. I’m in love with this gift guide. Speaking of gifts…

This year we will be spending Christmas in Boston instead of traveling to our parents’ houses like we did last year, and because of this, I want to make our gifts extra special. My goal is to find a useful item that reflects each person’s personality, and as I was browsing through this website, I couldn’t help but think of my little sister heading off to college next Fall. She would basically have the coolest dorm every if I helped her furnish it with these items. Possible Christmas gifts for her? I think so.

What are your favorite items for the home?

That blanket and cushion are really nice. My husband says cushions, candles and blankets are girls things, but it doesn’t stop him using these things!

Ha! I think my husband secretly likes those things too. :)

Sending presents can be so tricky but I agree that a dorm with those would be awesome!

I know! I’m always worried things will break in the mail. Here’s hoping they get to the Midwest in one piece.

Are you going to be mailing presents home? Hopefully you’ve already done your shopping! I’m still waiting for a few packages to arrive and I can’t wait. Even though I live here longer than 6 months I try not to buy too many decorations b/c my place is so small. There isn’t a lot of room for “stuff.” I love hanging up photos from my trips or paintings/prints I’ve bought during my travels.

My favourite is the coaster set, so pretty! I love buying things for my house but if I bought everything I saw or wanted I would run out of space. So sometimes making due with what we got is perfectly fine!

I really need to invest in a pestle and mortar set – would really be a big help when it comes to making my curry pastes!
