Life in Boston

Have you noticed that as you get older, the months seem to fly by even faster? I’m not a fan of this because I always feel so behind. We just moved to Boston at the beginning of September and before we know it, we’ll be headed back to Washington, DC. There are still restaurants to try, museums to explore, and streets to walk (wait, does that sound like I’m a street walker?), and time is running out. Have I already mentioned that I love Boston? Because I’m smitten with this city and I don’t want to leave — ever. My husband will literally have to drag me out of our apartment when that time comes in late February/early March.

Sigh.

Boston has everything I could possibly want in a city. If I want to feel classy (which is rare) there are wine tastings and dinners. And if I want to act myself, I accompany my husband and his friends to a Bruins game and swear like a sailor. God, Bostonians are the best. And hey, if we stayed here, I could even force myself to like the Red Sox. Please let me stay!

And that’s how I’ve been feeling for the past week or so. Time needs to slow down (although I’m really excited to put up our Christmas tree).

What’s new with you?

I noticed pumpkin beer in your pictures…I went to school in Mass and my favorite pumpkin beer was Shipyard Pumpkinhead – have you tried it?? If not, be sure to check it out…it’s one of the many great parts of fall in New England. I’m glad you’re enjoying Boston!

I love your picture updates. I also wish you lived closer because as much as I know it would be fun to go out for blates, i would so love to play with your dogs. they are so cute. None of my friends I have yet have dogs and since we cannot have one right now with our landlady I feel like im missing that from my life. Feel free to blog more about your cute four footed family members. ;)

Time definitely seems like it’s switched to warp speed around here too. I’m excited for Christmas but I’m like, “hold your horses!” And I can understand you not want to leave Boston, I love that city!

Time is flying by this year! I hope you get to cram in as much of Boston as you can before you leave!

So glad to hear you’re loving Boston! And I know what you mean — time has flown by incredibly fast here as well. It’s hard to believe Christmas is barely a month away!

Glad Boston is going well for you. When do you have to leave? I agree time flies by fast. I NEVER wanted to live in Oklahoma or a small town and I’m here. We will most likely be leaving in June and I get sad thinking about saying bye to all the nice people here. Such is life though, eh?

I can understand that. Boston seems like a great city. I’ve only visited a couple of times but loved it. Well I’m sure everything will work out for the best :)

Time always seems to really fly by when we don’t want it to! Enjoy every second! So glad you’re loving Boston :-)

My goodness, I think you move faster than we do, and we are in the military! We try to make a list of everything that we want to do in an area, and it always seems that there is never enough time to get everything crossed off. You still have a few more months, I’m sure you can get plenty knocked out!

Sorry that you have to leave the area- I have loved following your Boston journey!! It looks like such an exciting city. However, I also love DC (at least from my week experience) and can’t wait to see where you guys end up:)

I have been to Boston a couple of times and it never disappoints! Will you guys be moving to D.C. itself or the surrounding areas? I just moved from NYC to Northern VA, right outside of D.C. and am loving it so far. Hope you are able to make the most of your time in Boston before you move!

We already put up our Christmas tree! A little over-excited? Yes, yes I think so!

When I was young(er), I always thought it was just old people who said time goes by so quickly… and now that time is ZOOMING by it means that it actually IS going by really fast, or I’m just really old. (But seriously, how is it nearly December?!)

Boo, stay in Boston forever! we could have regular coffee dates (ones where it’s not just me asking you questions, haha) and the red sox are the BEST part of Boston.

At least DC isn’t that far from Boston… you can always hop up there for a weekend :) But it really is a great city!

If you live in DC then it’s easier for me to see you :) February’s not far away. Yay for direct flights from Savannah to Boston!
