chocolate chip banana bread

Things were a bit stressful in our house over the weekend so I went on a baking spree that included muffins for my two dogs and this chocolate chip banana bread recipe. The recipe is quick, easy, and resulted in moist banana bread with lots of chocolate. Have a mentioned that chocolate is my favorite thing to binge on? Brandon doesn’t share the same love for everything chocolate, however. Next time I whip this up, I’ll substitute the chocolate chips for peanut butter chips — only because I love him. ;)

Chocolate chip banana bread

What you’ll need:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 mashed bananas
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chocolate chips (if you don’t like chocolate, feel free to use peanut butter chips)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Add flour, baking powder, and chocolate chips to a large bowl
3. In a separate bowl, mix the butter, sugar, vanilla extract, bananas, and eggs
4. Add banana mixture to the dry ingredients and stir
5. Pour batter into a loaf tin or nonstick cake pan and bake for around 1 hour or until light brown
6. Enjoy!

I’ll help you with the chocolate treats :) I made chocolate chip banana bread last night – the recipe called for not NEARLY enough chips, in my opinion!

    Beyond delish!

This recipe is simple and sounds delish. Most of the time all those added ingredients get lost anyway. What’s not to love about a buttery bread with chocolate chips, that is unless you’re like your husband and don’t like chocolate. So missing out, right?

Why haven’t I ever thought to put chocolate in my banana bread? I know what I’ll be baking this weekend :)

Rachel, banana bread is always a good idea :) And I am always shocked to find non-chocolate lovers (my husband isn’t a huge fan) and you are good to think of him with the peanut butter swap :) Heath bits might be awesome in this, too!
