sometimes a staycation is all you need

In the past couple of years we’ve traveled a lot. Even though big trips are exciting and full of adventure and new experiences, I’ve realized that staycations are good for the soul. Everyone can use a lazy weekend once in a while. Time to refuel, refocus and enjoy the little things in life.

Our good friends asked us to house sit while they went out of town this weekend and it wasn’t a difficult decision in the least since their home is beautiful. We swam in the pool, watched four dogs and a cat become close friends, and cozied up on the couch while watching movies. You don’t have to hop on a plane to have a good time!

Sparkling water

Westie dog
West Highland White Terrier
Ugg slippers
I was going to film my vlog this weekend but figured a shot in my bathing suit would be too forward. Maybe on our second vlog date?

Have you had a lazy weekend lately?

I guess I had an unintentional staycation this weekend, but it wasn’t nearly as photogenic as yours. It was more like me on the couch, braless in an over sized t shirt, reading and watching stupid videos of cats on youtube. And it was wonderful.

A staycation is such a good idea! I think I will have a go at that this weekend (if the weather improves a bit as it has gone from super sunny to stormy – but still hot)!

    Lovely collection of photographs!

I need a staycation, but it really needs to emphasize the STAY part. As in stay out of the laundry room, stay out of the grocery store, stay away from chores around the house. Great pictures!

    That pool.
I would not turn down the chance to have a staycation in that pool.

Staycations are sometimes completely what you need to recharge. We tend to pack our weekends and it’s just nice to stay home once in a while. Sounds perfect :)

I’ve certainly rocked the staycation lately! There’s definitely more to be said about it than people give it credit for.

Staycations are great but are always much better when you get to stay at someone else’s house. I’m a little jealous!

looks like a quality weekend. I worked 24 hours through both saturday and sunday at my part-time job. Not much relaxing until I got home at 9pm last night. :/

Love weekends like that. A good couple days of nothing but pure relaxation is sometimes better than a week of full traveling.

Last weekend our vacation was a staycation. We hit up loads of places in Provence within two hours of us, it was lovely.
And for the past two weekends I’ve been on a couchcation – it’s been pure bliss! :)

Well, if a bathing suit shot is good for a second date, where does this leave us? Hmm?

That pool looks amazing. is it totally inside or a bit open? I would love to have an area like that to relax in during the summer.
