We bought a townhouse in Florida to rent out {we’re official HGTV-ing our lives} so our Memorial Day weekend was spent painting ceilings and walls… and picking out appliances and a kitchen countertop at Lowe’s {PLEASE don’t make me go to Lowe’s again, Brandon}. Question. Why does HGTV make everything seem so easy? I wasn’t even doing heavy lifting and my entire body hurts. I am basically a professional painter so I bet my vigorous painting movements strained a couple of muscles. At least the walls look damn good.

I painted my nails today even though they’ll get ruined the next time we work on the house. Last night I came home with paint on my clothes, in my hair, under my nails, and chocolate all over my yoga pants. Don’t ask. But, if you really want to know… I’ve consumed five candy bars in the past four days. Hence the chocolate stains on everything. Renovating makes me hangry.

What have you been up to lately?

Beth from Hang On, Honey is one of the sweetest bloggers I’ve ever conversed with. She’s adorable, likes to hit the vino bottle and is obsessed with The Walking Dead. Basically, we’re a match made in blogger heaven. Please go say hello and while you’re over there, check out one of my favorite posts — On Living With a Man Child.

Beth Hang On, Honey

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a way to hold myself accountable losing weight, assuming no one would ever read, and then it sort of morphed into a way to tell funny stories, open up about topics that are sometimes tough to talk about, and write about really important things like the Backstreet Boys. In all seriousness, though, it’s been really amazing to find my voice and meet some wonderful people.

What makes you unique?
I think part of what my readers enjoy about my blog is that I don’t really put up a cool front. I typically tell it pretty straight and am not afraid to poke a little fun at myself. I also write about things {like binge eating!} that people don’t usually talk about, but many people deal with. I think it helps readers {and myself} see that they’re not so alone.

my husband wants to own rental property for a living when we move back to the states! it sounds like fun now but i bet i’ll be hating lowe’s just as much as you do by the end of the first week! are you going to show the final product?

Home renovation is the worst! My parents just got done laying new tile in their house that they’re remodeling and next they’re re-doing a bathroom! I want no part of it, haha.

I love your nails! I’ve always been a fan of pink and grey together – and of course a little glitter never hurt anyone. Good luck with all of the renovations!
