life’s little moments

Have you ever had the urge to blog in the bathtub? I did tonight, but 1. I don’t like blogging on the iPad, and 2. Bringing the MacBook near water would cause my husband to have a panic attack. I’m already accident-prone so purposely bringing a laptop near a relatively large body of water is out of the question.

Lately, I’ve been craving everything comfortable and relaxing (like bathtubs) because I am tired. All. The. Time. I’ve diagnosed myself with either lyme disease, thanks to our vast array of dirty foster dogs in Arizona, or travel fog. Travel fog is when you drive across the country to a new home and instead of settling in and unpacking, you fly to the Midwest the next day. Then you travel back to Florida a week later and arrive back home at 2 AM. Then around midnight the next day, you pick up your husband an hour away at the Orlando airport after having an emotional breakdown at a gas pump {more on this later}. For some reason all of that is tiring.

I’ll tell you all what doesn’t make me tired, though. Having a blate with Lisette and Whitney. No sir, I was wide awake for that one. On our sunny lunch date, we met a nice waiter we called “Big Poppa” (he had a wet high five) and enjoyed pina coladas near the beach. I’ve only been on a sorta blate once before with Jessa from Life of a Sports Wife, and after meeting her in Arizona and realizing she wasn’t really an Internet creeper pretending to be a woman with a blog, I wasn’t as nervous to meet these other fine ladies. Plus it didn’t hurt that Jessa was the sweetest person ever. And guess what? Lisette and Whitney are fun, hilarious and amazing, too. If I could, I’d go on a blate with both of them every single week.

What’s a blate without a romantic stroll on the beach?

On Sunday, our friends talked us into joining them for the Treetop Trek at the Brevard Zoo. The obstacle course includes quite a few zip lines, a Tarzan swing, high platforms and other fear-inducing “tasks”. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to even make it up the first ladder, but once you’re up, you’re up. Well, I suppose I could have started shrieking and bawling to get down, but I didn’t. Now we have a year-long zip line pass (it seemed like a good idea at the time) and I foresee many weekends spent amongst spider monkeys and talking birds.

First of all, I constantly want to blog from the bathtub. Really I would like to do everything from the bathtub, that’s my happy place. I’ve gone so far as to prop my iPad or MacBook up on the trash can so I can watch a movie or TV, and I’ve held my phone over the water, but I try not to do that because if I do drop it I’ll never hear the end of it from my husband.
Your blate looks like it was a blast!
