influenster sweetheart voxbox 2013 review

I’m happy to announce my Influenster VoxBox finally reached me last week! That’s what happens when you move around so often. Things get mailed to old addresses and it takes the apartment complex office ages to get it to you. But as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait… and this box was packed with lots of goodies!

1// Olay Fresh Effects {Va-Va-Vivid!} Powered Contour Cleansing System: $12.99
I actually liked the vibrating cleansing brush. It wasn’t as gentle as my Clarisonic brush head but it was easier to clean since it’s rubber. The process felt like a facial massage and was very relaxing. I would definitely recommend this product to my little sister and my girlfriends. The price is reasonable for a facial brush!
2// Olay Fresh Effects {Shine, Shine Go Away!} Shine Minimizing Cleanser: $6.99 for full size
This cleanser smelled great, had a nice lather and left my face feeling smooth and refreshed. I have combination skin that gets very oily in the t-zone area, and I noticed less shine after using this product. I didn’t like that this product was made in China, though. After reading about countless recalls, I try to buy products made in the USA. I would probably recommend it to someone with oily skin issues.
3// Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response: $7.99 – $9.99
I LOVE this stuff. First of all, the smell is absolutely wonderful and didn’t remind me of deodorant at all. The citrus smell is similar to a body spray from VS or fruity smelling perfume. I couldn’t stop smelling my armpits! {gross, right?} I was using Tom’s deodorant before because it’s all natural, but I noticed that I didn’t feel so fresh at the end of the day. Secret worked all day and then some. Seriously, I was taking a shower this morning and noticed that I still smelled great. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.
4// Skinnygirl Daily On-The-Go Bars: $9.99 per box of 5 bars
I received the Coco-Nut with peanut butter Skinnygirl bar and was impressed with the cute packaging and the yummy taste. I usually buy Fiber One bars but, oh my, this bar tasted SO much better. Plus, the texture wasn’t as thick and hard to chew. The only downside is the steep price. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a tasty on-the-go snack.
5// Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray: $6.00 for full size
I liked the smell of this product and the fact that the price is reasonable, but since my hair is so stubborn and straight, it didn’t work out so well for me. It DID give me some texture, but not necessary “beach babe waves”. I’d recommend this for people with thinner hair — and maybe someone with a natural wave already.

I bought that sea salt spray and it doesn’t really work for me either. But I love the smell!

I received it in my VoxBox too. I didn’t use it by itself like when my hair is wet. I did the “no heat curls” aka “friar tuck” from Aunie Sauce, and it worked pretty well!

I’m glad to hear that Secret’s formula has improved! Just in time, because Degree and Dove ain’t cutting it for me anymore!
