guest post: lb in wonderland {a weekend in boston}

I have a special guest post for you all today. It’s special because the author, LB, is a woman after my own heart. She enjoys Italian food, champagne, spontaneous dates and she’s currently living in Boston. B and I will be moving there at the beginning of September, and reading about her fun weekend in the big city made me jump up and down with delight. I cannot wait. And now I have someone to show me around. Right, right?!

Hi all! I am super excited to be guest posting here at Postcards from Rachel.

My name is LB and you can catch me blogging over at LB in Wonderland. I just went from being a ‘burbs girl to living in the awesome city of Boston. My best friend and love, Michael, just moved here, too! I am hopelessly addicted to sweets, Italian food and awesome smelling candles {current favorite is Pink Sands by Yankee Candle–check it out, you’ll feel like you are in Fiji}. My blog is dedicated to my adventures with life, love and learning with a lot of other random surprises thrown in.

Today, I thought I’d share what I consider to be the perfect Boston date.

Since Mike just moved here, he hasn’t been able to explore much of Boston. So on Saturday we headed over to Quincy Market which is by the North End {awesome Italian food!} and the waterfront. Quincy Market is basically a place with a lot of food and shop vendors. There are a bunch of great pubs in the area, as well. We went to one with live Irish music which I love, love, love!

After that we headed down the waterfront to walk around. I love days that involve no plans–we just decided as we went along. It’s beautiful down by the water–you’re still in the center of the city, but somehow it feels a lot more free and open.

Then we ended the day at the mini bar in Copley Hotel. Normally, it would be WAY too expensive, but I was able to get a Gilt City deal. We had yummy food {I had truffle fries–so good!} and delicious drinks. Mike went for red wine and I, my typical fruity self, went for a strawberry champagne concoction–again very good. It was fun to feel all swanky in the city.

It was a really fun date and felt great to be out and about after a long week!

Thanks so much for reading my post! I just started my blog and would so love if you’d stop by and follow along! Leave a comment so I can find you in return! :)

Love, LB

I’m thinking a blogger date in the city is in order, LB? I mean, if you want…
