a post in which i make excuses for not posting

I promise I tried to post last week, but Photobucket wouldn’t allow it. Does anyone else have as many issues as I do, or does this program just hate me? I finally uploaded the majority of our photos from Venice {raise your hand if you think uploading takes ages} but then Photobucket wouldn’t allow me to open or edit the added photos. And it still won’t. I plan on updating my MacBook, but what the heck? I really doubt it’s my laptops fault.

Besides having photo issues, I had an enlarged esophagus thanks to the devil antibiotic, doxycycline. I know what you’re thinking… who gets an enlarged esophagus? Me. Like I mentioned earlier in my Friday’s Letters, I struggle with hormonal acne and my dermatologist kept pushing me to go on oral antibiotics, even though I explained to him that I wouldn’t because I don’t like how they make me feel — oh, and because of that one time I passed out on the DC metro and had to be carried off. But we’ll save that story for a later time. Anyway. Finally, after an appointment with the grump, I gave in — mainly because he told me that my face looked awful {thanks!}. He wrote me a prescription for doxycycline and I went on my merry way. Everything was going OK until last Sunday when I took the antibiotic capsule later than usual. I chugged an entire glass of water, waited a while, figured I was good, and hit the sack, only to wake up at 3 AM in extreme pain. To make a long story short, pill-induced acid reflux is not fun. Neither is a swollen esophagus. After a week, I am finally able to eat and drink normally without wanting to cry. Thanks, Pepcid AC, Popsicles, and that entire bottle of Mylanta I chugged!

You’re probably wondering if I’m actually an elderly person pretending to be a twenty-something blogger because I chug Mylanta in my spare time. To prove to you I’m not, here’s a photo of the “Postcards from Rachel” family minus the cute dog. See, we’re sort of young.

If you’ve gotten this far, 1. I’m sorry; 2. I have a great giveaway from JAVOedge for you all on the blog tomorrow. You won’t want to miss it because they have some great cases for iPads, Kindles and iPhones!

I kind of hate Photobucket myself, and I rarely even use it… I just made the jump to paying the extra $2.50 a month for more Google storage space for all my blogger pics. Kind of annoying, but at least it’s pretty cheap…

But on a more upbeat note – that picture of y’all is absolutely adorable!!

I’ve had a ton of problems with Photobucket, I just stopped using it and have all of my photos stored on my computer. I really need to get an external hard drive to store them on, or a giant USB card.
That’s such a cute picture of you guys!!
