friday’s letters

Dear Husband, We were going to hike Camelback Mountain today, but last night our friends mentioned something about killer bee attacks and a man falling off of a cliff to his death. I think we will stick with that other mountain trail we hike… Dear Malcolm, I’m not sure if you think I’m going to disappear or what, but you follow me everywhere. Making coffee in the kitchen? You’re at my feet. Taking a nap? You’re burrowed under the covers. Taking a shower? You’re on the bathroom floor, looking in to make sure I don’t slip. What are you going to do after the travel rotation when I have a real job again? I guess I’ll have to hide you under my desk {separation anxiety!}. Dear Readers, I’m sorry so many of you are dealing with adult acne, too. Although it’s nice to hear I’m not the only one. Cheers to cysts, papules, nodules, blackheads and whiteheads! Ok, that was gross… Dear Husband, You just made us breakfast and I love it. An egg sandwich for me and a plate of scrambled eggs and cheese for Malcolm. We might be a little obsessed with our pup.

Your puppy is so cute! Can’t wait till we can have one when we go back to the states.(our landlord speaks no english so to ask her if we could have a dog we made a barking sound with a thumbs up sign. She gave us a big X)

Don’t be intimidated by Camelback mountain! It is such a great hike- pretty challenging, but so worth it. My family has a tradition of hiking Camelback EARLY Christmas morning to catch the sunrise up top. So beautiful! There’s usually even a Christmas tree up there that someone much more ambitious than me finds the strength to haul up there.
