oh, how pinteresting {life is one big road trip}

Things have been crazy around here. We made the big drive from Iowa to Arizona yesterday {most boring drive in the world} and we are finally starting to get settled in our new home. I’ve been unpacking all of the suitcases we left on the apartment floor before we got on a flight to my parents’ house, and our air shipment from Scotland should be here in the next couple of days. I’m not sure where we are going to fit everything, but we’ll figure it out!

I’m also going to try and catch up on blogging today so if you’ve left a message, I promise to reply/follow you as soon as possible. PROMISE!

A few positives:
During the drive, we were pulled over by a state trooper who absolutely loved our dog, Malcolm. Most people don’t know that he’s a West Highland Terrier, but as soon as the officer saw little Malc in the back seat, he said, “Awesome Westie!” Since the husband was only driving 10 mph over the speed limit, he let us off with a warning — but we all know that he was nice because of our little man. ;) I think our pup deserves a new treat!

Our apartment pool is ah-mazing. It’s massive, surrounded by palm trees, has a waterfall, and of course, a huge jacuzzi. I’m sure most places in the South have great pools, but we’re definitely not used to this. Getting a little sun will be such a nice change since the UK was quite gloomy. However, we are starting to miss all of the castles… Have I mentioned that there’s a castle on every corner in Scotland? :)

Since we’re back in the United States, I can finally get crafty! There are so many projects I’ve found on Pinterest this past year, but I didn’t want to take the time to make any of them just in case they got destroyed in an air shipment over the big, blue pond. I can’t wait to decorate and have fun with our new place.

Speaking of Pinterest…
I’m linking up with The Vintage Apple {adorable blog} once again!

We have so many ticket stubs, maps, and other miscellaneous material that I think a travel collage would be a fun and interesting addition to our wall.

Aren’t all of these projects great? I saw a DIY map dresser post on another blog and thought it was extremely creative, so hopefully I’ll be able to recreate something similar!

Have a great Wednesday and thanks for reading — even when I’m MIA for a bit!

    Your apartment complex sounds amazing! And I love all those map crafts you have from pinterest. I have some of those pinned also. I love the idea of making something out of maps of places that have meaning to me and the hubby. Hope you get to start crafting soon!

    The travel collage sounds like a great idea! Then it’s out for everyone to see. I have a scrapbook and tote of a trip to Japan I took and that would be a great way to get it out and on display. Cute blog. Can’t wait to read more of your new place in AZ.
    Also Scotland is on our list of places to go since my husbands family is from there. That and I love castles!

Off to read your posts about Rome – We lived in Northern Italy 2009-2010 and the Hubs and I are thinking of going to Rome for our break in November or February!
